James Woods as Oliver and Ben Cherington as Dodger deliver adorable and spirited renditions of their upbeat numbers.

Maureen Rohn stands out as Nancy, bringing both grit and sensitivity to her character. Her performance is an extremely strong one, showcasing her impressive vocal range and emotional depth. Ron Bianchi and Nicky McDonnell also impress as Mr. Sowerberry and his wife, respectively.

The production's highlight is undoubtedly Mike Baker Jr.'s flawless performance. His rendition of 'Reviewing the Situation' is a masterclass in combining humor, heart, and gorgeous vocals. The costumes are a vibrant array of period-accurate colors, perfectly capturing the era's essence. Lighting design expertly complements the sets, using a variety of colors and special effects to create detailed locations.

The attention to detail is evident throughout, from the set's various pieces that can be turned or moved in and out to create different scenes, to the stunning silhouette of the London skyline at the back of the set. With its large cast of both children and adults, Oliver! is an excellent choice for families and a great introduction to theatre for young people.

In this production, Charles Dickens' timeless tale comes alive on stage, telling the story of young Oliver Twist as he navigates his journey from workhouse to street urchin to his ultimate quest for love. The Little Theatre of Alexandria's take on Oliver! is a wonderful example of community theater at its best, with plenty of heart and humor to go around.
